9) Under / Over-Voltage Detector (VD-86)

The VD-86 is an AC voltage monitoring device. It is a base mounted relay with 2 potentiometers, one to set the high voltage alarm, and one for the low voltage alarm. It is activated as long as its power supply (line to monitor) is within the pre-set range. The reaction time for this device is rapid: typically 50ms (up to 250ms if the monitored voltage is right at the pre-set limit). The hysteresis of the device is approximately 1%.

The VD-86 can also be used to monitor a phase loss or a hydro failure.

Several versions are available to monitor:

·        24v:  20 to 28v

·        115v: 100 to 140v

·        208v: 180 to 260v

            (Please specify when ordering)

10) Phase Loss (VOLTAGE) MONITOR (PM-86)

The PM-86 is a 3-phased metering relay for phase-neutral voltages. The PM-86 monitors if all 3 phase-neutral voltages are within set limits. There are separate settings for the high and low limits. This device can also operate in reverse phase sequence. The relay will drop if one (or more) of the three phases is out of the pre-set limits. The hysteresis is approximately 2%.

The PM-86 will also drop if the neutral is interrupted, making it a perfect device for safety.

Several versions are available:

·        3 x 220: 104 to 150v

·        3 x 380: 180 to 260v

(Available for other voltages upon request)

11) Battery Option (BO-12v)

·        The BO-12v is, in our minds, one the most important components of the monitoring system. It has been made an option only to enable Log-One to offer more competitive prices.

·        The BO-12v is an option that will keep alive all of the different parts of the monitoring system during a power outage. To have a good monitoring panel it is always advisable to include this option. Some people may argue that the panel is supplied from the UPS and therefore does not require a battery back-up. Usually a UPS does not provide more than 10 minutes of battery back-up power. If the load is greatly reduced, back-up power could be increased to half an hour.

·        There is nothing more annoying for a computer room manager or a service technician to think they have discovered the origin of a problem without being able to prove it. A battery backed-up monitoring panel will keep all alarms in memory, even long after the UPS goes down. It will be a great help in reconstituting a sequence of events, and finding potential problems. It can also save a considerable amount of money by providing sufficient proof and avoiding costly meetings and investigations.

·        A battery back-up should be included particularly if fire detectors or entry key-pads are installed.
